Bud was born on January 26th, 1943 in Bulger Pennsylvania, to Howard and Marie Ransom. Bud’s career as a communications technician in the telecommunications industry spanned several decades. He was a problem solver who often took on difficult projects and was the
‘go-to’ guy at work and around the house.
On February 22, 2003, he married his best friend and the love of his life, Merce Ransom. Bud had a passion for his life with Merce. He often expressed his love through writing her songs and poems, buying flowers and gifts, and helping out wherever he could lend a hand. Together, they
enjoyed traveling and working on home improvement projects. Bud’s most recent favorite quote was, “my favorite thing about my home is who I share it with.”
Bud also enjoyed listening to music and talk radio and spending time outdoors. He loved his Amazon Alexa devices and often asked her to play his favorite artists, including Tina Turner, Lady A, and The Eagles.
Bud was also an animal lover. He cared for several animals throughout his lifetime and often asked about family and friends’ pets. Bud was always quick to donate to animal welfare organizations.
Howard was preceded in death by his father, Howard Otto Ransom and his mother, Marie Barbara Viverka. He is survived by his wife Merce and her daughter Laurie, his four children, Regina, Chris, Buddy and Patrick, his brother David, his sister Marie, and several grandchildren
and great grandchildren.
