

Humberto V. “Albert” Ramirez was born in Houston, Texas on Wednesday, November 28, 1928, the son of Refugio V. Ramirez and Juana Lopez Ramirez. He passed away peacefully in his sleep, of natural causes, on Sunday, April 26, 2020 having lived 91 years, 4 months and 28 days.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Guadalupe Castro Ramirez, whom he married in March 1952. As the youngest of four children, he is also preceded in death by his brothers, Ruben and Reinaldo and his sister Julia.
He is survived by his son Albert Ramirez, daughter-in-law Mary A. Fitzgerald, his daughter Anjanette Boston, son-in-law Greg Boston and their children Bradley Boston and Mattisyn Boston.
Albert enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1946 and was stationed at the Army’s fort at the Presidio in San Francisco, serving as a medic at Letterman General Hospital within the post. After discharge in 1948, Albert returned to Houston where he would later be introduced to his wife through her close friend, his sister Julia. Albert made a career in the oil field service and exploration industry, working as a buyer at Dresser Atlas where he served for over 30 years before retiring in 1991. Albert was a loving father who enjoyed spending time with his family and for many years was a parishioner at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Albert’s family is grateful for the gracious care he received at Homebridge assisted living center and English Cottage residential care home and from Alamo Hospice and Oasis Hospice during his final days.
