She graduated from Jeff Davis High School and soon after began what would become a long and meaningful career with the City of Houston. Over the course of 38 years, Irene served in various departments, always bringing commitment and care to her work. She retired in November 2001, leaving behind a legacy of service and professionalism.
In retirement, Irene embraced the joys of family life. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, creating lasting memories that her family will forever cherish. Whether it was enjoying a good movie or dining out with friends, Irene appreciated the simple pleasures of life and the company of those she loved.
She is survived by her son, Michael Briones; her daughter, Katherine Garcia and her husband Jesse; her beloved grandchildren, Michael Jr., Melissa, Edward, Monica, Jacob, and Victoria; and her great-grandchildren, Kendall, Connor, and Mackenzie.
Irene will be remembered always and missed dearly.
