Jacques Rene Pierre Chauvel

Jacques René Pierre Chauvel, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away December 28, 2023 in Houston, Texas. Jacques was 77 years old and lived in Urou et Crennes, France, with his wife of 51 years, Marie-Claire Chauvel.

Jacques was a kind and thoughtful man who always put his family first. He was the glue that held them together through thick and thin. He was a loving and supportive husband to Marie-Claire, a proud and caring father to Nicolas and François, a fun and generous grandfather to Paul, Margot, April, and Luca, and a loyal and dependable brother to his siblings Gisèle, René, and Martine. He cherished every moment he spent with his family and friends, and always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips. He was passionate about photography and had a keen eye for capturing beautiful moments with his family.

He was very successful in his professional career as a chartered accountant where he took pride in resolving the complicated challenges he faced. Above all, he enjoyed the personal relationships he built with his clients and partners over the years. Jacques led his accounting firm up until the end.

Jacques was also a passionate and dedicated volunteer for Enfance et Partage-Normandie, a non-profit organization whose mission is to protect and defend children who are victims of all forms of violence in France and around the world. He was serving as President for the past 27 years where he devoted his time and energy to causes such as providing food, shelter, clothes and financial aid for children and families in need. He was an inspiration to many and a friend to everyone he met.

Jacques will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He left a lasting legacy of kindness, generosity, and joy in the hearts of his family and friends. He will always be remembered as a wonderful person and a beautiful soul. Rest in peace, Jacques. You are forever in our hearts.
