

James Oliver Brannon, born September 21, 1925 to James Herbert and Mary Cunningham Brannon in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away August 11, 2010 in Houston, TX. Mr. Brannon is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Eva Davila Brannon from Hargill, TX; sons, Robin and Jamie Brannon; daughter, Carla Brannon Economos and husband, Art Economos; grandchildren, Marika and Dimitri Economos, all residing in Houston, and many friends.
Mr. Brannon served his country proudly in the Navy from 1942 to 1946 during World War II. He was in the Naval Reserves for 10 years and the Merchant Marines for 3 years. Mr. Brannon was an officer in the Houston Police Department for 33 years, and was a Past Master of Oak Forest Masonic Lodge.
A memorial service celebrating Mr. Brannon’s life and distinguished career will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2010 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home. Inurnment with military honors will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 20, 2010 in Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038. Those wishing to attend the committal service should meet at the cemetery in the parking lot behind the administration building by 12:45 p.m.
