James grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he developed a love of riding and working on motorcycles and baseball. He had to know why and how things worked around him and studied Agricultural Economics at Texas Tech University, and in Lubbock he met the love of his life Donna Rivera. On July 3rd, 1982 they were married in St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas.
James went to work for REDA Pumps and got to travel and live all over the world and the United States. He had a life-long passion for aviation, and loved giving rides in his airplane to anyone who would join him. Most importantly, James loved Jesus and he loved truth. James’ passion for the Word of God was a central part of his life and he lived the Gospel message as a mentor and teacher. His faithfulness changed the lives of those around him.
James endlessly loved his wife Donna until the day he passed. James’ legacy is survived by wife, his older brother, and sister, his four sons and their spouses, and his six grandchildren.
James desired to be wise and spent much of his time reading and writing the book of Proverbs by hand. His wisdom was imparted to his family through his famous sayings like “There are things you can do to avoid accidents” and "be a blessing to others”. Yet the greatest impact of his wisdom was through his balance of expecting much from his sons, and yet supporting them with a deep love. His example, his love of Jesus, and his famous phrases will forever be etched in the hearts of his family and friends.
