James "Jack" L. Jones Jr.

In Memory of our beloved brother, uncle and friend, James L. "Jack" Jones, Jr., 88, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016, in Houston, Texas. Born in Brownsville, Tx on January 3, 1928, he was a lifelong resident of Houston since age 2. Jack was a graduate of Reagan High School. Attended the University of Houston. Served in the U.S. Army 1946-47 and retired from Texaco after 39 years. Preceded in death by his parents, James L. Jones Sr. and Fern Bearden Jones; sister Helen Jones Mayor and nephew Gary Carlin. Survived by his two sisters: JoAnn Jones House and Nettie Jones Doty, his nieces; Melissa Gelfand, Amy Shaw and Julie Spitzer; nephews; Michael Mayor and David Doty and many great nieces/nephews and many friends. Jack had a passion for family, life, music and the arts. He was a member of the Looking at Art club. Funeral services will be held at Heights Funeral Home, Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 10am, interment Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
