James Paul Kuepfer (Jim) was born on May 6, 1957 in Houston, Texas. He attended Milby High School, Class of 1976, and lived his entire life in Houston. Jim’s bright smile warmed many hearts. His sociable nature made friends with everyone he met. He was dearly loved and will never be forgotten by all who knew him.
He was one of the most generous, soft-hearted people you’ll ever know as evidenced by Jim taking care of his Dad, Paul, during his declining years. When Paul required a great deal of care, Jim did not send him to a facility, but continued homecare. Jim fed wild birds, wild rabbits, squirrels, and a turtle in his pond. He took great pride in the beautiful blue jays that frequented his backyard and in the Amaryllis Lilies around his pond.
One of his accomplishments was in turning his life around through AA. He was treasurer in his local group, also worked with some district people, and served as an inspiration to others. His family was very proud of him. His hobbies included golf, of which he had a trophy for ‘A Hole in One’ and four ‘Eagles.’ He was an avid watch collector. He attended car shows with his red sports car and rode motorcycles. An American flag flying in front of his house demonstrated his patriotism and his love of country.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Vincent Kuepfer and Edyth Charlene McCormack. Surviving family includes three siblings, Paula Sullivan, Suzy Messina, David Kuepfer; two nieces, Erin and Corinne Sullivan; and three great-nephews, Andrew, Sean, and Jonathan Jr. His Aunt Mary (Eberly) of Summerfield FL also survives him as do an extended family of cousins.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 8, from 6-9 PM; the Memorial Service will be on Wednesday, July 9, at 11:00 AM. He will be interred beside his loving grandmother, Irene Harrison, at Earthman Resthaven on July 9 at 2:30 PM.
