Jim was born July 21, 1946, in Frio County in south Texas, and grew up in San Antonio. He was a proud alumnus of the University of Texas, where he graduated with highest honors with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. In the mid 1980s he formed his own consulting company A.S.W.T., which he successfully ran with his son Robert Price and late wife Nancy Price.
He will be remembered as a proud and devoted father; a sharp-minded, honest and hardworking businessman; a loyal friend and a sharp-shooting hunter who was most at peace outdoors. He was a simple man with a big heart and found great joy in giving generously. He will be forever missed.
Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife Nancy Sue Price, father Floyd Harry Price and brother Daniel Floyd Price. He is survived by his mother Edith Odell Price, daughter Stephanie Ann Price, son Robert James and wife Traci Michelle, son Daniel Wayne Price, brother William Wayne Price, plus his cherished granddaughter Emerson Faith Price.
A service to celebrate Jim's life will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 1 in the chapel of Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Fwy. in Houston, with visitation for family and friends 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday May 31 at the funeral home. A private graveside service will be held noon on Saturday, June 2, at Mission Park Chapels South, 1700 Southeast Military Drive in San Antonio, Texas. Those attending the internment are asked to gather in the chapel at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project (https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org) on behalf of the honorable service of his brother Marine veteran Wayne Price, niece Air Force veteran Shannon Bagwell and his beloved nephew Navy Chief Petty Officer Danny Price, soon to be a commissioned officer. Jim was so very proud of them.
