

Janet Doiron passed away peacefully August 1, 2024 at the age of 96. Born Mary Janet Manuel on March 30, 1928 in Port Arthur, TX to Martel and Nola Manuel, she attended Catholic school through her elementary and high school education. Janet attended Port Arthur Business College which prepared her for many years as an executive secretary. She married Luther Ray Doiron in 1952, and they were blessed with three wonderful children. They moved from Texas to Lafayette, LA where Luther began his architectural practice.
Though they divorced, Janet and Lou remained friends until his death in 1981. Janet moved to Beaumont, TX and in 1971 to Houston where she took a job at Shell Oil as executive secretary to Shell’s General counsel. She retired in 1993 at the age of 65.
Janet loved to travel, especially visiting friends in England, and her children when they lived overseas in Okinawa, Japan, and in Italy and Germany.
Janet was active in church theater and the women’s group at Trinity Lutheran. She was most recently a member of Memorial Lutheran Church.
Janet was predeceased by her parents, Nola and Martel Manuel; sisters, Vivian Boudreaux and Patsy Williams; brothers, John and James Manuel; and nephew, Kent Williams.
Janet is survived by her three children, Leslie Mosby (Royce), LouAnn Webber (Rob), and Danny Doiron (Sherri); five grandchildren, Angelo Kavalon, Jacquelyn Welge (Mike), Amy Webber (Angela), Jacob Doiron, Matthew Webber (Marlana); eleven great- grandchildren, Adeline, Benjamin and Morgan Welge, Leyla Kavalon, Aiden and Ellie Webber, Dysen, Vance and Shea Webber, and Easton Morrison and Laney Craft. She also leaves behind 2 great-great-grandchildren, Austin and Khloe Kavalon. She is also survived by beloved niece Linda Williams of Beaumont, who visited her often, and other special nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are through Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Blvd., Houston, TX, 77008.
Visitation August 9, from 5-7pm at Heights Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Dr. Scott Murray on Saturday, August 10 at 11am at Memorial Lutheran Church, 5800 Westheimer Rd. Houston, TX 77057. Prior to the service the family will receive visitors at 10am in The Commons area of the Fellowship Hall.
You are invited to join family for a lunch reception in the church’s Fellowship Hall.
Private family interment follows at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

The family would like to thank all of the caregivers at Village of the Heights, Janet's hospice team at Pax Et Vita Hospice, and her special caregiver Lena with Care by Lena. They all loved our mom.
In addition, the family would like to thank the Pastors at Memorial Lutheran Church for the loving pastoral care these past two years, visiting Janet on a regular basis.
