Janice Kay Synstad

Janice Kay Synstad, a kind-hearted and selfless woman, passed away on September 22, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on June 12, 1952, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Janice was known for her honesty, patience, and gentle nature.

From a young age, Janice loved riding her horse, exploring everywhere she could. Her love for animals, especially dogs, was a consistent theme throughout her life. She was actively involved in dog shows and worked alongside her husband Dean with championship show dogs and obedience dogs.

Janice dedicated her career to the care of children, serving as the Director of After School Childcare at Clay Road Baptist Church and St. Mark Lutheran Church. Her devotion to her work and the children she cared for was evident to all who knew her.

In 1972, Janice married Dean, and together they had one son, David. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Margie Shaffer, her sister Phyllis, and her brother Terry. Janice's devotion to her family was unwavering, and she cherished the time spent with Dean and David.

Janice will be remembered for her selfless nature and her commitment to her family and the community. Her gentle spirit and kindness touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting legacy.
