Visitation will be from 5-8pm Friday, December 27, 2019 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10am Saturday, December 28, 2019 with Daryl Roth officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Somerville, Texas at 3pm under the direction of Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home.
Jeannette was born on September 26, 1945 in Bryan, Texas to William and Evelyn (Vance) Pugh. She married John “Butch” Compte on December 9, 1967 in Cooks Point, Texas. She loved volunteering at her kids’ schools and was very involved in the local Little League where her kids played baseball. She was the Director of Shareholder Relations at Coastal Energy, then El Paso Natural Gas Company until retiring from Kinder Morgan. She was also a member of the Woodlands Church.
Jeannette was preceded in death by her mother Maudie Evelyn (Vance) Hall; step-father, James Hall; father-in-law AB Compte; brother-in-law Gary Taylor; sister-in-law Pat Compte; and her son-in-law Tracy Steele.
Survivors include her husband Butch of Conroe, Texas; Sisters Lynn Taylor and Marion Hall. Daughter Kimberly Steele of Jacksonville, Texas; three sons, Mike Compte and wife Delicia of Laguna Vista, Texas, Steven Compte of Houston, Texas, and Keith Compte of Magnolia, Texas; five granddaughters, Krystal Roberts and husband Chad, Alex Carter and husband Ty, Brittani Steele, Robyn Compte and Lily Compte. Six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ty Carter, Ken Hampton, Brian Broz, David Taylor, Daryl Vance, Andy Vance, James Vance, and Jimmy Vance. Honorary Pallbearers are David Taylor, Jr., Michael Hampton, Talan Broz, Chad Roberts and Jayce Roberts.
