

Jerald "Jerry" Vaughn Wilson, born January 8, 1942 to Oral and Clara Wilson in Steubenville, Ohio, passed away October 2, 2010 in Houston, Texas. Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews, Brian Wilson and Steven Wilson. He is survived by his brother, James Wilson and wife, Peggy; nephew, James I. Wilson Jr. and wife, Felicity; Steven Wilson's wife, Kathie; aunts, Flo McCullough and Ruby Wilson; uncle, Bob Wilson and wife, Jo; numerous other nieces, nephews, and extended family; life partner, Thanh Tran, and a multitude of friends and wonderful neighbors. Special thanks go to the caring doctors, nurses, and staffs of Park Plaza Hospital and Plaza Specialty Hospital.
Mr. Wilson served his country proudly in the Air Force during the Vietnam era. He had degrees in music and psychology, and retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs in Houston after 25 years of faithful service as a psychologist.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Heights Funeral Home. At 4:00 p.m. friends will be invited to speak, sharing their memories celebrating Mr. Wilson's life. He was an optimist who loved people and always saw the glass as half full.
If desired, in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army in Houston to aid homeless veterans.
