

Jerry Elvis McGee passed peacefully into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at the young age of 56. He grew up in Baytown, Texas, with his father and mother, Charlie and Connie McGee. After the passing of his mother and father, he went to live with the Preble family. Dr. Harry Preble and Josephine Preble took Jerry in as one of their own children. Jerry graduated in 1978 from Milby High School where he enjoyed playing on the football team. Jerry was a loving and devoted husband to Tammy McGee. They shared 32 wonderful years together and raised four children. Jerry regularly attended Watters Road Church of Christ and was a dedicated Christian. Jerry left a legacy as a cherished husband, father, son, PawPaw, brother, uncle, and friend. Jerry was a fun loving, warm, prankster, who was not afraid to tell a corny joke. He worked very hard all his life to provide for his family and was very proud of his children. He is survived by his wife, Tammy McGee from Deer Park, Texas, his children, Jeanette McGee Reeves and husband Clinton Reeves from Kensett, Arkansas, Candice McGee Kelly and husband Austin Kelly from Friendswood, Texas, Brandon McGee and wife Sara McGee from McKinney, Texas, and Kristopher McGee from Webster, Texas. Jerry was also a PawPaw to Lillian Kelly, Colton Reeves, and Mackenzie Reeves. His mother, Jo Preble Balke and husband Andrew Balke from Pearland, Texas. His siblings, Skip Preble and wife Becky Preble from Comfort, Texas, Melinda Swann and husband Mark Swann from Nashville, Tennessee, John Preble and wife Laura Preble from Jersey Village, Texas, Amy Oliver and husband Wayne Oliver from Friendswood, Texas, Neta Aldrich and husband Jeff Aldrich from Westminster, Colorado. Along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at Watters Road Church of Christ in Pasadena, Texas, on Friday, October 22, 2016. The viewing will be at 10 a.m. and the celebration of Jerry’s life will begin at 11 a.m. Burial service to follow immediately after the celebration.
