Jimmy Wallace was born in Houston Texas on July 12th 1940. He was a 1958 graduate of John H Reagan High school in Houston Texas. After graduation, Jimmy went into the US Army and was a member of the 101st US Airborne division. Once Jimmy was honorably discharged, he worked over 40 years for General Mills Inc. here in Houston Texas and retired in 2005. He was an avid deer hunter in the Texas Hill Country and loved to fish. On any given day, you could find him in the garage mounting deer horns as a hobby.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother Blanche Earline Holmes, his father Jim Fred Wallace, his stepmother Mayola Gregg and his stepbrother M. C. Barfield. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 58 years, Verna Cabness Wallace and his son Jeffrey Wayne Wallace, wife Kimberly Linhart Wallace, grandson Justin Allen Wallace, wife Megan Joy Wallace and great-grandchildren Harper Joy Wallace, and Jack Duncan Wallace.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2024 at Waltrip Funeral Directors. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday at Waltrip Funeral Directors. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Garden of Memories. Casual attire is requested for both the visitation and service.
Serving as Pallbearers are Justin Wallace, Craig Lewis, Brian Lewis, Scott Lewis, Dierke Hobbs, Karl Schulenburg. Honorary pallbearer, Oscar Tubbleville.
