If I could only have one more day, I would tell you how much I appreciate everything you taught me. For one you never turned your back on me no matter what I did, you never let me know you were upset, you kept calm played it cool and had patience with me. You were here for all your sons and we're the best father any man could ask for. If we ever needed any advice you always knew what to say you're a good man, a friend to all and lifted up everyone's spirit I never knew anyone to say anything bad about you. You always helped everyone and never asked for help. I loved our many adventures from fishing in the Gulf, to hunting in the Hill country, our many trips to the casino, watching the Astros and the Texans play I enjoyed our afternoons together watching our favorite programs"Cheyenne" and "Quantum Leap".  When the phrase "Jack of all trades," comes to mind my father really was I learned a lot from my father he was a Master mechanic he could listen to a vehicle and tell you exactly what was wrong with it. He was a blacksmith, boilermaker, welder, manager at Kmart, clerk at a plumbing supply store, ran his own transmission shop, worked for Southern Pacific and Port Terminal railroad, he custom made parts for National Forge and Flame and also worked on forklifts. I've seen him build his own go-karts, mopeds, three wheelers, fix motorcycles, boats, tractors, was a carpenter built his own deer stands, bed frames, cabinets, bookshelf and even built his mother and father a house in the country but from all of this the one thing that stands out to me the most was the love for his family. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his family. Thank you for always being there for us. Words can't explain how much you mean to me, may you be with God and bless us all. I look up into the skies for your words of wisdom, may the wind whisper them to me, though you may be gone from this world, thoughts of you live on forever. I love you dad, rest in peace.

This is probably the best photo I could find of the day at Aunt Mary Christina Reyes and her funeral service and I took this picture. It’s the last one that I know of my uncles and my mother. I wished I could have made more memories with the family but it’s in the storytelling and it’s in living in the moments that make the lost time up fade away. The last dinner I had was with my Aunt Rosie and Uncle John eating Menudo and Posole with my mom at a restaurant on the last week before Christmas 2023. I gave to both of them my favorite saint medal of John The Evangelist who is the patron saint of love and friendship. 

I hope that your children and grandchildren and great grandchildren live long and remember the moments that you gave them and live the way you taught them to be in the example of how much you loved others and gave your friendship to so many.

Thank you for being there for me when I needed you during the darkest times in my life when my parents divorced and had the guts to tell me to always stand my ground. Thank you for your prayers for me and I with respect return the prayers back to you.  May St.John And Christ Jesus care for you in Heaven and tell my big sister Aurelia that I am doing a good job being the big sister down here.

Mark and I want to express our sincere sympathies.  We were saddened to hear of John's passing.
A memory I have as children is that summertimes were fun..John was an inventor and always thought of things to build or put together  for us to play with. we would all go to the library, use the slip and slide ,bike rides, play  board games, tag, Vieja Inez and so much more. Fun times
Our prayers for strength to Rosie and their wonderful sons John Manuel, Andrew and Eric.

Rest in peace John you will always be remembered as the fun loving, mischievous, adventurous, inventive and  very caring cousin that as kids my sisters and I always considered the older brother we never had.  I remember that we looked forward to summer adventures with him, there were the outdoor games that sometimes got all of us in trouble.   I have vivid memories of sharing  my mom’s peanut butter cookies and koolaid in hopes that he would let us play in the tree house that he had put together in grandpa’s backyard.  I will never forget the “red wagon train” our bikes had been chained to the little red wagon so that we could pull it and all ride down the street, “our very own parade float” he told us.…sometimes his creativity got him in trouble, one afternoon from the upstairs window we watched as he walked by the side of house on the stilts he made from lumber uncle Joe had gotten for some house repairs.….oh but getting in trouble never stopped his curiosity to create stuff that was fun.  These are just a few fun childhood  memories that we shared with John that made him our special cousin.
Over the years and even more so in recent months I grew to appreciate our conversations and the wise advice he offered.   I will miss that.
Soon our families will  gather to say our final goodbyes and we will pray for his eternal rest.
And for all his family especially Rosie, John, Andrew and Eric our heartfelt condolences.   We will pray for your strength thru these difficult days and pray that with time peace will heal and comfort your heart.
