John Dee Sanders, Jr.

Mr. John Dee Sanders Jr, a native of Marlin, Falls County Texas was born to John Dee Sanders Sr and Ernestine Sanders. He attended and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1950, he also attended Paul Quinn College in Waco, Texas. John became an active member of St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church very early in life. He was a Deacon and Trustee. He was employed at Sheffield Steel (Armco) for 32years. He retired after 32years of service at (Armco Steel). To his family and friends he was affectionately known as, "Papa, Johnny boy, School boy and Boss Hog". He was preceded in death by his wife of 53years, Janet M. Sanders, daughter Gwendolyn Y. Ward, grandson Ronald De-Wayne Ward, Brother Oscar Humphreys, and Sister Johnnie Dale Fitzpatrick. He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter Phyllis Calvin and son Jay D. Sanders Sr. and wife Wanda. Six grandchildren; Philip Green, Nicholas & Donald Ray Calvin Jr; LaQuita Sanders (only granddaughter), Jay D Sanders II &, Jeremy Sanders wife (Sherille). Siblings Iris Lawrence (Amarillo TX.) Virgil Sanders, (Alabama) and Alfred Ray Sanders, (Houston, TX.); Sister-Law, Janice Walker and a host of family and friends.
