

John E. Wann, age 93, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015. Born in Arcadia, Texas, he was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, who had a quick wit and loved to laugh. He was a volunteer fire fighter who helped start the South Montgomery County Vol. Fire Dept. in Oak Ridge North. He retired from Southern Pacific Railroad after over 35 years of service, and served his country honorably with the Army Air Corp. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Martha Wann; parents, Paul and Flossie Wann; and his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children, Linda Suggs and husband Stan, Carmine, Texas, Barbara DeSimone and husband Don, Conroe, Julie Wann, Conroe, and John Wann, Jr. of the Philippines; grandchildren, Stacie Engeling, Austin, Andy DeSimone and wife Angie, Conroe, Darren DeSimone and wife Holly, Spring, Aaron DeSimone, Austin, Karen DeSimone, Spring, Jeff Thrash and wife Christina, Cypress, Rachel Thurston and husband John, Broadway, VA, Nikki Wann, Conroe, and Jordan Wann, Houston; great grandchildren, Thomas DeSimone, Sabrina, Daniel, and Colin Thrash, Shelby, Killeen, and Trenton Thurston, and Ava and Aiden Ramsey. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 4, 2015 in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven. Interment will be at a later date at Houston National Cemetery.
