

Born in Houston, Texas, on September 30, 1958, to the late Rev. Jackson Banks and Oleivie Vance Banks, Johnny
was baptized at an early age and raised with a strong foundation in faith. He attended Carver High School and later pursued his passion for ministry by attending the School of Theology, where he was ordained as a minister. Through his spiritual dedication, Johnny touched the lives of many, faithfully doing God’s work and offering guidance and love to all he encountered.
Johnny lived a life filled with love, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Verna Banks; his brothers, Jackson Banks Jr., Howard Banks, John Banks, and Rev. Alfred Banks; and a special niece, Alfredia Banks.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving daughter, Sharri Stoot (Jeremy); one sister, Jacqueline Banks-Lewis (William); three brothers, Henry L. Banks (Carolyn), Larry M. Banks and Arthur L. Banks; Special nephew; Jamine Banks; sister-in-laws Audrey Banks, Donna Banks, Hattie Gamble and Rose Banks; and his adored grandchildren: Jeremy, Jasirra, Jermichael, Jayla, and Javarian. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will continue to honor and celebrate his legacy.
Johnny will be remembered for the joy he brought into our lives and the strength of spirit that carried him through all things. His legacy of love and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
May he rest in eternal peace.
