Johnny Maddox Breed Sr. died June 3, 2017 at the age of 84. He was born in LaGrange, Georgia where he lived until moving to Houston in 1954 to begin working at the Houston docks for the International Longshoreman’s Association #1273. He is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Myrtle Breed, his sisters Virginia and June and his brother Harvey. He is survived by wife, of 63 years, Carolyn and his five children, Johnny (Susan), Steven, Katrina, Anthony and Pam as well as his 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and his brother, Alan (Kathy) and many nieces and nephews. The joy of his life was his family. He was a deacon, Sunday school teacher & Dean of Men at Camp Houston at Houston’s First Baptist Church where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday June 7, 2017. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons. Visitation will be at Forest Park Lawndale from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2017.
