Jorge O. Cantu, age 67, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness Wednesday, June 22, 2016, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Monterrey, Mexico, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who had worked for 42 years with the Pappas family at their Pappas BBQ restaurant formerly Brisket House. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Maria L. Cantu; children, Lisa Cantu, Jorge O. Cantu III, and Teresa Cantu Cadiena and husband Lorenzo; grandchildren, Ramces Cantu, Jorge O. Cantu IV, Dominic Cantu, Nicholas Rivas and Roman Cadiena; siblings, Teresa Martinez, Bertha Lopez, Magdalena Perez, Cristina Martinez, Arturo Cantu, Isabel Garcia, Dolores Cantu and Enrique Cantu; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, with a Rosary to be recited at 3:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 4918 Cochran, Houston, Texas 77009. Rite of Committal will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
