Joe was born on November 30, 1949, to Jose and Juanita Ramirez in Rio Grande City, Texas. After graduating from high school, he met the love of his life, Susana "Susie" Gutierrez. They wedded in 1972 and were blessed with two amazing children, Marcy and Jose "Joey".
Joe relocated his family to Houston in 1973 where he began his career as a Maintenance Technician with Cameron Iron Works, later Wyman Gordon. He worked tirelessly to support his family and retired in 2012 after 37.5 years with the company.
Joe loved to hunt, fish, and barbeque. Family meant more to him than anything else in the world and he cherished the title of "Papa Joe". Anyone who knew Joe knew he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; Jose and Juanita Ramirez, and younger brother Romeo Ramirez. He is survived by his loving wife, Susana, his daughter Marcy (David) Fuentes, son Joey (Amanda) Ramirez, grandchildren: JoAnn Alvarez -Vasquez (Ricky), Raul "Trey" Alvarez III, David "Andrew", Daniel and Derek Fuentes, Aleisia, Alejandro, Elianna and Graciella "Nevaeh" Ramirez and great-granddaughter, Mia Vasquez.
There will be a Viewing on Wednesday, 3 February 2021 from 4-7 pm. Pastor Roberto Villarreal will conduct a Viewing service at 5 pm and Mr. Juan Perez will lead the rosary ceremony from 6-7 pm. Pastor Roberto Villarreal will also officiate the burial service on Thursday, 4 February 2021 at 11 am and the graveside service at 12 pm with a reception to follow afterward. All services will be held at Earthmans Resthaven Funeral home and Cemetery.
