

Mr. Joseph (Pee Wee) Canino passed away on May 26, 2015 at the age of 82 at St. Dominic Village in Houston. He was born on December 23, 1932 in Houston (Harris County) Texas to John C. and Jennie (Marino) Canino, Sr. He was raised in what was rural north Harris County, and where he attended and graduated from Jeff Davis High School. After high school, he served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. When his enlistment was completed, he returned to Houston where he joined Schlumburger Industries as a machinist. After a 30 year career at Schlumburger, he retired to the family homestead at Little York and Airline.
Pee Wee was preceded in death by two children, Mary Theresa Canino Zanonne in 2003 and Joseph D. Canino in 2014. His surviving children are Cynthia D. (John) Bradford of Lufkin, TX and Susanne Trinette Canino of Humble, TX. He is survived by an older brother John C. (Louise) Canino, Jr. of Duson, LA and a younger sister, Virgie (Emmett) Slater of Aldine, TX. Pee Wee also has 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He leaves behind 3 nieces and 3 nephews in addition to many extended family members and life-long friends.
Friends and family can pay their respect on Monday, June 1 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. On Tuesday, June 2 at 1:30 pm, a Christian Mass will be said at St. Dominic Village’s Warren Chapel (2401 Holcombe) with burial at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery to follow.
