

Joseph Wesley Schmitt was born in Houston, May 4, 1976. He was baptized and confirmed at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. He attended school at Our Savior Lutheran School, Aldine High School and earned an Associate Degree in Computer Science from Lee College. He was a valued employee at Hal Martin Jewelers and also had a successful web design business of his own.
Joey is survived by his grandparents, William and Billie Schmitt (Pops and Mom); grandmother, Lee Gallard; father, Richard Schmitt and Jessie; mother, Teresa McLain and Bobby Joe; brother, Jason; sisters, Christina Schmitt and Jon, Jessica Barrios and Brian, and Billie Rae Ann Schmitt; three nieces and one nephew; special aunt and Teacher Jo-Caroll and Dennis Mueller; special uncle and mentor Gary Schmitt and Robin; many aunts and uncles, cousins by the dozens, and a multitude of friends.
Joey was a loving, generous, and caring person. His smile would light up any room and he could always make “lemonade” out of any situation. He was always happy and never met a stranger who wouldn’t soon become his friend.

Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 23, 2015 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 161 West Rd., Houston, Texas 77037. The Graveside will be the same day at 1:30 p.m. at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, Texas.
