

On December 21, 1957, a beautiful baby girl, Joyce Ann Johnson was born to the parents of Mr. Jimmy and Ernestine Johnson in Monroe, Louisiana. She graduated from Carroll High School in 1975. Later, she attended San Jacinto College and received her Culinary Arts Certification. Also, she participated in the Westin Galleria Culinary Apprenticeship. She married James Conway on August 31, 1975. In 1977, she traveled to Bitburg, Germany with her husband who was in the United States Air Force. This union was blessed with two beautiful children; Quentin and Elizabeth. In her childhood years, she was a member of Mary Goss Missionary Baptist Church. While in Bitburg, Germany, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. In 1984, Mother Joyce Conway joined New Day Deliverance Holiness Church, under the leadership of Apostle R.R. Taylor where she served as a faithful church and choir member. In 1998, she moved her membership to Miracle Deliverance Holiness Church, Inc., under the leadership of Overseer E.M. Williams. She received her Minister’s license and also served as a Youth Director, Choir member, and a Sunday School Teacher. She was later appointed as an Elder and The Mother of the Church. Mother Joyce Conway was very passionate about prayer. She earned the title as “Prayer Warrior” due to her groundbreaking works with her “PUSH” Ministry (Pray Until Something Happen). On Monday, July 30, 2018, she answered the call of our Lord and Savior to come home and rest. Her Lord said unto her “Well done, thou, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord” (Matt 25:21). Preceding her in death: Her grandparents, Mr. Willie and Sallie Chatman, her mother and father, Mr. Jimmy and Ernestine Johnson, her brother, Jimmy Johnson and her sister, La Sandra Johnson. She leaves to cherish: her faithful and loving husband of 42 years and 11 months James Conway(husband); her son, Quentin Conway (Brandi); daughter, Elizabeth McGee (Johnny); grandchildren, Xavier, Onajae’, and Johnny Jr.; her God-child, Nyla Thomas; her sister, Diana Johnson; Brothers: Curtis D. Johnson; George E. Johnson (Tamara); Cornell Johnson (Angela) and a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives.
