Born in Cochabamba, Bolivia, on July 4, 1938, Juan was a man defined by devotion, quiet strength, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones. Over 50 years ago, in 1974, he took a courageous step and moved to Texas to build a better life and open new opportunities for his wife and children.
Juan was a remarkably skilled machinist who dedicated over 40 years to his trade at the same company. He held a deep passion for mechanics and engineering, finding genuine joy in understanding how things worked and the art of bringing machinery to life. His interests reflected his natural curiosity, practical skills, and appreciation for the world around him— whether he was spending hours in his garage creating machinery or working on cars alongside the men in his family. He was a natural provider, a man full of wisdom, and his daily actions taught those around him the true meaning of independence, strength, and selflessness.
A faithful parishioner of St. Mary of the Expectation Catholic Church in League City, Juan served as a devoted Sacristan for many years. Every Sunday morning, he faithfully unlocked the church doors, preparing the sanctuary and welcoming the community into the house of God. Later in life, that same steadfast devotion was focused entirely on his beloved wife, Wilma. He lovingly cared for her through her illness until her passing, demonstrating the true depth and sanctity of their 67 years of marriage.
Juan was a proud grandfather of 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was the heart and cornerstone of his family, and his enduring legacy of faith, work ethic, and unconditional love will forever live in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
"His hands built a foundation of hard work and care; his heart built a legacy of faith and family that will live on for generations."
