“Ama”, fue llamada a su hogar eterno a la edad de 75 años. A Ama le sobreviven su hermano Faustino y su hermana Rosita, su esposo José, sus siete hijos, Teresa y su esposo William, Carlos y su esposa

Iris, José y su compañera de vida Tammy, Sonia y su esposo Jeremiah, Lorena, Armando y su esposa Jessica, y Vanessa y su esposo Rolan; sus dieciséis nietos, Michael, Lupita, Emma, Brenda y su esposo John, Bianca, Marco, Nicolas, Nathan, Jessel, Jazzlyn, Brandon, Noah, Tori, Joshua, Jeremiah y Eric; y sus

tres bisnietos Alexander, Matthew y Elena Bea.

Ama nació de Faustino y María Elizondo el 15 de junio de 1945 en el pueblo de Mina, Nuevo León. Ella

fue una madre y esposa dedicada y su mayor regalo fue brindar consuelo a los demás y su mayor

deseo era hacer felices a los que amaba. Su amor brilló a través de ella de más formas que las palabras puedan expresar. Sea cocinando una comida abundante para toda su familia, o con el

dones con los que nos honró, el amor fluyo de todos sus seres. Su mayor alegría en la vida fue estar rodeada por sus nietos a quienes amaba con abrazos y besos, y siempre encontraba formas, en

su manera, para hacerlos sentir tan especiales como los veía en sus propios ojos. Ella nos amó a través de su amor a Dios, sus bendiciones, su canto y baile, sus peluches hechos a mano de ganchillo y

mantas, sus ollas de menudo los domingos por la mañana, sus tamales navideños, sus celebraciones festivas y tradiciones de cumpleaños, a través de las frutas y verduras que cultivaba en su jardín, las plantas que ella plantaba con cariño para cada uno de sus hijos, a través de sus palabras, su sabiduría y sus buenos consejos.

El nombre “Ama” significa amar, y eso es lo que hizo Ama hasta su último día en la Tierra.

On Saturday, November 21, 2020 Juanita Elizondo Sanchez, better known to those who love her as “Ama”, was called to her eternal home at the age of 75. Ama is survived by her brother Faustino and her sister Rosita, her husband Jose, her seven children, Teresa and her husband William, Carlos and his wife Iris, Jose and his life partner Tammy, Sonia and her husband Jeremiah, Lorena, Armando and his wife Jessica, and Vanessa and her husband Rolan; her sixteen grandchildren, Michael, Lupita, Emma, Brenda and her husband John, Bianca, Marco, Nicolas, Nathan, Jessel, Jazzlyn, Brandon, Noah, Tori, Joshua, Jeremiah, and Eric; and her three great-grandchildren Alexander, Matthew, and Elena Bea.

Ama was born to Faustino and Maria Elizondo on June 15, 1945 in the town of Mina, Nuevo Leon. She was a dedicated mother and wife whose greatest gift was bringing others comfort and whose biggest desire was to make those she loved happy. Her love shined through her in more ways than words can express. Whether it was by cooking an abundant meal for her entire family, or through the handmade gifts she graced us with, love flowed from her every being. Her greatest joy in life was being surrounded by her grandchildren who she endlessly loved on with hugs and kisses, and she always found ways, in her own way, to make them feel as special as she saw them in her own eyes. She loved us through her love for God, her blessings, her singing and dancing, her handmade crocheted stuffed animals and blankets, her Sunday morning pots of menudo, her holiday tamales, her festive celebrations and birthday traditions, through the fruits and vegetables she grew in her garden, the plants she’d lovingly pot for each of her children, through her words, her wisdom, and her good advice.

The word “Ama” in Spanish means to love, and that is what Ama did until her very last day on Earth.
