

First Lady Emeritus Linda Powell was born November 8, 1952, in Houston, TX to Sophie Ann Watson and Leonard Roquemore. After a brief fight with cancer, Linda Kaye Powell transitioned on February 28, 2018 at Kingwood Medical Center where she held to her faith and trust in God. In 1971, Linda graduated from Kashmere High School. She also married the love of her life Pastor Donald Powell Sr on January 22, 1971. Linda spent her life nurturing and caring for every member of her family. She was wife, mom, maw maw, daughter, sister, baby sitter, cook, nurse, spiritual advisor, and a host of other things, but more importantly she was a child of God. For over 22 years, Linda served as the First Lady of East Houston Trinity M.B.C. beside the late Pastor Donald Powell Sr. Along with other leaders in the church, First Lady Powell started W.A.S.O.U.L. and many other organizations in the church where her calling was grooming young women. Her faith in God showed in her everyday walk even when sickness took control of her body. She faced cancer with grace and dignity. Linda is preceded in death by her husband Pastor Donald Powell Sr., her son Dion Powell, mother Sophie Watson, father Leonard Roquemore, and brother Cedric Benjamin. She leaves to cherish her memory children Renee Powell Moran (Gerard), Donald Powell Jr. (Lorna), Montray Powell Sr., Michelle Galtney (Kelly), Kristenick (Brande), Wayne Seymore (Shontina), Corey Seymore (Vonita), Keisha Seymore (Torro), Breiann Seymore (Jarvis), Kendrick Seymore, Sederia Thomas (Duane), Quitney, Frank Telemaque, & Tracy Johnson (Winnie); Aunt & Second Mother Francis Coatney; sisters Mary Bridges (James), her twin Lynn Benjamin, Beverly Lockhart (Robert), Debbie Jenkins, & Brenda Benjamin; brothers Irving Benjamin, Nathan Benjamin, Marquese Donahue, & Dennis Benjamin; grandchildren, Alexandra, Jayla, London, Kelley, Kailum, Kobe, Kierra, Traynisha, Montray Jr., Kiana, Li’Tre, Shakiera, Edward Jr., Travis, Miryan, Gabriella, Alfred Jr, Ashley, Kaitlyn, Alissa, Vauna, Michael, Devon, Paradise, Diamond, Dana, Quad, Daysha, Damaya, Demarcus, Josh, and Renita; great grandchildren Alaya & Kirran; Best friend Esther Carter (Robert) & Jackie Baker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. ?
