Linda Catherine Rogers (Mimi) was lovingly welcomed into the world on July 2, 1945 in Dallas, Texas by her father Clarence and mother Annie. She grew up in Dallas alongside her three siblings: Laurie, Mary and Donald. Through her childhood, she had many interests including dance, roller skating, gardening, horses, and pets. As a teenager, she worked at a cafe in Garland, Texas and had one specific customer who would buy a Dr. Pepper one after another, just so he would be able to continue chatting with her. This determined customer soon became who we knew as her husband, Larry (Gigi). They knew it was love at first sight and quickly got married. They then had two children together, Larry Jr. and Ronald. They would stay married and make memories together for forty-nine years.
Linda moved to Spring, Texas and resided there with her family for the next forty-six years of her life. During this time, she made countless everlasting friendships and enjoyed being a part of the National Street Rod Association and Lone Star Street Rod Association with her husband. She also spent time devoted to our Lord and Savior, and was a part of the Highland Park Methodist Church as well as other local churches in the area. Linda loved to garden in her spare time (pink roses and carnations were her favorite) and relax on the patio while drinking coffee and listening to the birds sing. Something she also loved was listening to her husband sing and play the guitar.
Her two sons got married and had children, and she became a grandmother, also known as Mimi. Her grandchildren, Jared, Abigail, Evan, Madelyn and Jacob, became the center of her world. She always had fun arts and crafts planned, endless card games, movie night sleepovers, and breakfast dates at the local Ihop or Denny's with them. She was always excited to cheer them on in their school activities like band and theater, and encouraged them to follow their heart. Linda was always there for friends and family, and was a good listener as everyone could count on her to talk to about anything on their mind. She also had quite the sense of humor, cracking unexpected jokes and bringing out a laugh in almost anyone. Upon having a deep conversation about life over coffee with Mimi on her patio swing one day, she said, "It goes in a hurry so enjoy life. Get the most out of it. Do good."
Linda Rogers was lovingly welcomed into Heaven on the morning of September 23, 2025 by her husband Larry Rogers, sisters Laurie A. May and Mary C. Lawson, parents Clarence E. Verbick and Annie L. Stark Verbick, and her dog, Lady.
She is survived by her brother Donald L. Verbick (Mary Verbick), sons Larry D. Rogers Jr. (Michele Rogers) and Ronald G. Rogers (Andrea L. Rogers), grandchildren Jared L. Rogers (Lauren Rogers), Abigail F. Rogers (Brittany Rogers), Evan W. Rogers (Iliana Rubio), Madelyn C. Rogers, and Jacob W. Rogers, and great-grandchildren Carson, Reagan, Jameson, and Mason.
We will all miss her deeply as she leaves a big hole in our hearts, and know that there is no other Linda, no other Mimi, like her.
We were so blessed to be able to know her and have her in our lives.
