

Loreane Douglas was born on August 21, 1927 to Cleve and Lela Mae Douglas in Hawkins, Texas. She was the eldest of the three children born to that union. She graduated from Emma H.Walace High School in Orange, Texas.
A Time To Serve
Loreane was born into a Christian home and accepted Christ at an early age in Hawkins, Texas. She moved to Houston, Texas and united with True Light Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the usher board. Later, she joined and attended New Covenant Baptist Church where she was a member.
A Time To Live
On January 9, 1947, Loreane was joined in holy matrimony with MT Samuel Sr. in Orange, Texas. Together, they moved to Houston, Texas and to this union five children were born. Loreane was employed by Memorial Herman Hospital for a short time and later Massey’s Restaurant, where she worked as a chef for 28 years before her retirement.
A Time To Die
On Wednesday, July 13, 2022, in the early morning hours Loreane’s book of life quietly closed. The angle of the Lord came to escort this child of God home. Her parents, Cleve and Lela Mae Douglas; husband, MT Samuel Sr.; sisters, Imogene Hancock, Martha Daniels, and Mary Richmond; brothers, Venester Douglas and Elmer Cross; children, MT Samuel Jr. and Linda Tatmon preceded her in death.
A Time To Mourn
To cherish her memory, Loreane leaves; children: Janice Scott, Glenda Frank (Clifton), and Venester Samuel; grandchildren Vonda Davis (Charles), Sonya Douglas, Bishop, Larry T. Williams, Danielle Joseph, Wendi Haller (John), Brittany Frank, and Christopher Frank; greatgrandchildren: Joshua Douglas, La’kaila Joseph, Jasmine Joseph, Da’Jon Haller and Jacion Haller; and a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
