Lorraine Louise McSwain

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lorraine Louise McSwain, 90, of New Waverly, TX. She left us on Monday, June 9, 2025 after a beautifully lived life. Full of love, laughter, and resilience, she touched the lives of all who knew her. She was born and raised in Houston, TX, daughter of the late Guy and Mary Lemon. Lorraine was 1 of 7 children and preceded in death by her 6 siblings as well as her husband of 46 years, Donese, and her son Guy. She leaves behind her 2 daughters, Mary and Karen, her son and daughter in law, Ronny and Trisha, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was the bookkeeper and co owner of McSwain Overhead Door Co until she retired. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and enjoyed volunteering with church activities, especially the White Elephant booth at the church bazaar. She was a compassionate person and often spent time with friends and family in their time of need. She was an avid antique collector and loved to hunt for a good deal.

We welcome all who knew her to join us in celebrating the life of a woman who was loved deeply and will be missed greatly.

A visitation for Lorraine will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Joseph Catholic Church, 101 Elmore St, New Waverly, TX 77358. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 101 Elmore St, New Waverly, TX 77358. A committal service will occur Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:20 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
