

Lowell Quinn Wells, age 88, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013 following a lengthy illness. Lowell was married to Virta Eubanks Wells for 47 years prior to her death November 14, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Della Wells; and his sister, Dorothy and brother-in-law, Shef Presnall. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Wells of Houston, TX; niece, Sherry Stanson and husband Mark of Centennial, CO; niece, Debra Neyland and husband Rob; great-niece, Abby Neyland and husband Bob of Brackenridge Park, CO; step-granddaughter, Mandy Wells of Dallas, TX; step-grandsons, David Hight of Bay City, TX, Steve Hight of Conroe, TX, Travis Wayne Wells and wife Michelle of Austin, TX; step-great-granddaughters, Katherine "Kate" and Margaret "Meg" Wells of Cedar Park, TX; step-great-grandsons, Mason and Connor Geraty of Austin, Texas; and good friend, Lea Ann Keeny of Richmond, TX. Lea Ann Keeny was just like a daughter to Lowell, and Lowell was her "Pops." Lowell was born in Dallas, TX. He was a long resident of Houston, TX, where he owned and operated his business - "Wells' Bearing & Machine Works" for eighteen years. Later Lowell was employed for Dresser Atlas for nine and one-half years prior to his retirement. Lowell was proud of his military service during WWII in the Navy. He served from September 26, 1941 to December 5, 1945. He served on the Destroyer MacDonough 351. The last year of the war he served on LST 1104. Lowell served a total of thiry-eight months in the South Pacific and two months in the Aleutian Islands. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 2, 2013 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. The Graveside Service celebrating Lowell's life will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, with Rev. Mark Stanson, officiating.
