Mabel Janet Sellers - We the family of Mabel Sellers of Houston, Texas, who passed into God's loving care on August 14, 2018, wish her God's rest and peace at the end of a long and good life. Mabel was born on October 28, 1923, to Clyde and Alice Tissue in Stamps, Arkansas. Mabel is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Sellers; and two brothers, Charles Tissue and C.L Tissue.
She is survived by her children: Ronnie Sellers and wife, Patricia, their children, Kirk Sellers and Elisa Garber; Steve Sellers and wife, Donna, their children, Kimberly Council and Darla Ringer; Joey Sellers and wife, Sandra, their children, Erin Dodds and Chad Sellers; David Sellers and wife, Sandra, their children, Allison Leonard and Shannon Bedinger; Johnny Sellers and wife, Judy, their children, Jason Sellers and Sarah Sellers; Janet Steele and husband, John, their daughter, Linsey Steele; Suzanne Sellers Byford and husband, David, their son, Henry Byford; Michael Sellers and wife, Ashley, their daughter, Cassidy. She is also survived by two sisters, Wanda Haynie and Alice Jean Tissue, and her brother, Gary Tissue. Survivors also include eleven great grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces, friends, and neighbors. A large family that God has blessed enormously.
Our mother wrote these words prior to her passing: "I've decided that when my days are over, place my ashes next to Joe. My soul will already be where God wants me to be. God bless, how I've loved you all and how thankful I am for the good life that God gave me. Amen and goodbye."
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, from 1 pm-3 pm, followed by a memorial service at 3 pm at Forest Park Lawndale's Main Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
