Margaret transitioned peacefully on 11/28/2011. She brought great joy and was an inspiration to others for her entire life. Born to Fred and Alma Nias in Houston, she worked hard all of her life, retiring from AK Steel in 1982. She traveled the world with friends and family and had a great gusto for life. She dedicated her retirement years to helping those less fortunate. She found especially rewarding her ministry of delivering communion to shut-ins, even while in her 80’s. She greatly loved her family and was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Fred and Benny; son Tyrone Laws; and husbands Emmett Laws and David Goodwin. She is survived by two grandchildren, one great grandchild, her niece and family.
She will be greatly missed by all but will remain an inspiration to those whose lives that she touched in her very special way.A graveside service honoring her life will be held on November 30, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Historic Hollywood Cemetery in Houston.
