Maria was married to Manuel Cruz on May 27, 1959. Maria had a passion for music, family, dancing and her favorite must have was McDonald's coffee.

She is survived by her children; Ruben Cruz, Minerva Cervantes, Elizabeth Lopez, Manuel Cruz Jr., Hugo Cruz, Elvia Guevara and Jose Luis Cruz. Brother; Tirzo Hernandez and her sisters; Maricela Villareal and Concepcion Zuniga. 17 Grandchildren; Ruben Cruz Jr., Robert Cruz, Adriane Cruz, Jorge Luis Davila, Mayra Davila, Omar Davila, Edward Xavier Guevara, Lissette Diaz, Victor Lopez, Daniel Lopez, David Cruz, Cindy Cruz, Gladys Romero, Beatrice Cruz, Javier Cruz, Eddie Guevara, Anthony Guevara and Adrian Guevara. 16 Great-grandchildren; Gisselle Davila, Royce Gutierrez, Gianelle Gutierrez, Cesar Davila, Sophia Davila, Alec Davila, Celeste Davila, Gabriel Davila, Ariana Davila, Sanuel Diaz, Isabelle Diaz, Gabriela Lopez, Mirelli Cruz, Damian Cruz, Olivia Cruz and Joziah Gallegos.

A visitation for Maria will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A rosary service will occur Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will occur Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A committal service will occur Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Ave, Houston, TX 77023.
