Ms. Marley Tenille Hewitt

Marley was baptized in her early childhood. She graduated from Jack Yates High School in Houston, TX. Marley then proceeded to graduate from the University of Houston-Downtown. She held several jobs throughout her life. Her last place of employment was with the Texas Department of Human and Health Services, where she forged many lasting friendships.

On May 19, 2006, Marley gave birth to her only child, Casey Jamel Hewitt.

Marley enjoyed a proud life as a mother and beloved daughter to Shirley…She enjoyed traveling, planning and hosting gatherings, and overall spending time with family and friends. Marley was always available to listen, counsel, and show her loved one’s appreciation. Her infectious spirit will live on with us forever.

Marley leaves behind her only child; Casey Jamel Hewitt; mother; Shirley Ann Hewitt; aunts; Christine Sowell & George Sowell (Uncle), and Debra Fettinger. First cousins; Christine Simpson, Bryon Hewitt, Shawndra Sowell Sherrod & Eddie Sherrod (Husband), Kimberly Hewitt, Monique Smith & Louis Smith (Husband), Chrystal Hewitt Brooks, Danielle Renee Sowell, and Nyddia Renee Conteh, and a host of cousins throughout the Greater Houston area and beyond.

Marley is preceded in death by her father, George McCoy, grandparents Ruth Ella Hightower & Casey Hewitt; aunts Delores Simpson and Vanessa Yvonne Hewitts; uncles Oscar Simpson and Billy Johnson; cousins Cedric Simpson and Clayton Sowell; second cousins Dedrick McHenry and Detrich Hawkins (mother Kimberly Hewitt), and Marquise Jackson (mother Nyddia Renee Conteh).
