

In obedience to the Lord’s command, an angel descended from Heaven and arrived in Ville Platte, Louisiana on July 10, 1939 and blessed John Green and Ritha LeBlanc with a baby girl whom they named Martha Mae Green. Martha was the third oldest of eight children born to John and Ritha. She attended public school in Ville Platte, Louisiana, but had to forego her education to help with the family. She met and later married Billy Brown on November 20, 1967. Martha was blessed to give birth to her only child Margaret Ward in 1958. She came to Christ and was baptized at an early age. She attended church in Houston, Texas with friends and family then later became a frequent visitor of Greater New Testament Baptist Church. Martha was a devoted housekeeper for many years until she later retired after 41 years. Martha Mae Brown was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Houston Hospice in the Texas Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ritha; brothers Roy Green, Joe Green, Melvin Green and Wilbert Green; sisters Mary Green and Elnora Green all born in Louisiana. She leaves to cherish her memories her soulmate Billy “Don” Brown; daughter, Margaret Ward; sisters, Wilda Campbell, Emily Collins (JT); brothers, David Green and Johnny Skinner (Dolores); granddaughters, Shawana Jones (Kendrick), Cieara Walker (Clarence); great grandchildren; Jamarion Moy, Keyana Jones and Caylee Walker. Host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
