Marty was born to Florentino Perez and Manuela Ruiz, on the 16th of April, 1944, in Houston, Texas. He married Mary Jane Castanon in 1962, and they lived together in Houston, Texas. Together they raised two children.
He was preceded in death by Mary Jane Perez, his wife, in January 2014. He is survived by his two children: Martin Perez Jr and Michelle Hittner.
Marty worked as an electrician for the University of Houston for 31 years. He enjoyed dancing and listening to the music from the 1950s, a fun afternoon playing bingo and spoiling his little dog Missy.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to The Texas Mamma Jamma Ride for Breast Cancer at

The family would like to remind everyone of Marty’s wishes. Marty was a happy go lucky sorta guy. His wishes were to have everyone remember him in life. His smile, his love for a great pizza & cold beer dinner, his off cuff jokes, his love of music and of classic American cars. If you listen closely, you can hear Marty singing as he passes by St. Peter, heading through pearly gates towards heaven.
“See you later, alligator. After a while, crocodile.
Can't you see you're in my way now
Don't you know you cramp my style” Bill Haley & the Comets
