Mary Jane Gilbert

Mary Jane Gilbert was born on August 4, 1924 in Midway, Texas to Raymond and Mary Dell Tucker. She was the second born of thirteen children, she attended school in Midway, Texas. She accepted Christ at a young age and later moved to Houston, Texas. She active member of Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. P.W. Spencer where she served as mother of the church for many years. Sis. Gilbert was a member of Forest Lawn Missionary Baptist Church for the past year under Rev. Ricky Bell. She was granted her wings on September 25, 2014, when called God called her home. Mary Gilbert was preceded in death by her parents; two sons EL and Lee L; one daughter Ora; one grandson Justin; two great grand sons Justin and Jai'Vone; four sisters OnnieMae, Billie Jewew, Modine, and Jessie; and five brothers Joe, Charles, Harvey, Willie, and Floyd. She leaves to cherish her memories seven children Ruby, Annie Ray, Mary, Cecil(Nicole), Ora, Jessie, and James(Yvette) all of Houston, TX; one sister OraB. of Dallas, TX; two brothers Ferguson of Houston, TX and Oliver of Dallas, TX; twenty-seven grandchildren; thirty-seven great grandchildren, fourteen great greatgrandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
