Mary Castillo Gonzalez

Mary Castillo Gonzalez, 73, of Pasadena, TX, passed away on July 20, 2025. She was born on April 2, 1952, in Houston, TX, to Nicandro and Rosiara Castillo. Mary married Eloy Gonzalez, and together they built a life in South Houston, TX, where they lovingly raised four children.

She is survived by her children: Vincent Eloy Gonzalez and his spouse, Crystal Gonzalez; Christy Lopez and her spouse, Jimmy Lopez; Jesse Gonzalez and his spouse, Michelle Zamora; and Mike Hernandez and his spouse, Sylvia Hernandez. Mary was a proud and devoted grandmother to Eloy T. Gonzalez and Arielle Sanchez, Emilio Lowe, Carlos Ramirez, Jimmy and Zory Lopez, Kimberly and Reynaldo Dominguez, Joseph and Angie Lopez, Angelina Lopez, Jesse Gonzalez and Suecyi Sorrazano, Mariah Gonzalez, Corina Gonzalez and Juan Bello, and Haley Gonzalez. She was also blessed with many great-grandchildren, including Nathan Gonzalez, Blair Cox, Odysseus, Andromeda, and Diomedes Lopez, Evelyn and Reynaldo Dominguez, Melanie, Benjamin, Riley, and Kaley Lopez, Maelanee and Sebastian Bello, Armando Delacruz, and Serenity Silva.

Mary also leaves behind cherished memories with her siblings, nieces, and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

She dedicated much of her life to being a homemaker, finding joy in life’s simple pleasures—chatting with loved ones, cheering on the Houston Astros, visiting casinos, listening to music, dancing, and, most of all, spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. Mary was known as a “mother of the people.” She welcomed everyone with open arms, sharing love, warmth, and kindness freely with all who knew her. Her presence was a gift, and her impact on others was profound.

The family is deeply grateful for the many expressions of love, support, and condolences received during this time.

Family, friends, and all whose lives Mary touched are invited to attend services at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., after which the procession will continue to Mary’s final resting place.
