Hi everyone, I know that this is a little unusual for an obituary, however, I am an awesome and unique human being. My mane is Mary Richardson and I was born in Houston, Texas to LeRoy Newton and Dorothy Richardson on November 16, 1944. I was a beautiful baby with curly black hair and big, beautiful brown eyes. I accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church by the late Rev. C. G. Wilkins. I attend Blackshear Elementary, Lockett Junior High, and Phillis Wheatley Senior High where I was a Wheatley Wildcat Majorette. After high school, I attended Espanola's Beauty College where I obtained my Cosmetology license. I loved doing hair and became a hair stylist by profession. Early in my career, Bobby Blue Bland presented me with an opportunity to accompany him on the road as his personal hair stylist; however being a down-home Southern girl, I could not grasp the vastness of this life-changing offer and I turned it down. So I continued my career by working at several high-end hair salons including the renowned Foley's Department Store Hair Salon in Downtown Houston. I met, fell in love, and married the love of my life Fred Douglas Brown. Later I met and married, Deon Smail and relocated to his hometown of Lincoln, Nebraska, where we resided for over 22 years. After the loss of my mother in 1994, I relocated back to Houston and I united with Spring Antioch Baptist Church, under Rev. E.A. Wilson, Sr. Throughout my life, I have battled several forms of Cancer; I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at the age of 32, I am a Breast Cancer Survivor. In 2007, I was diagnosed with Throat Cancer, and later diagnosed with Lung and then Tongue Cancer. On August at 17th at 7:00 a.m. God dispatched his Angels to quietly deliver me from all of my earthy pains and sufferings. " I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" II Timothy 4:7 I am preceded in death by my mother, father and three brothers. I leave to cherish my memories: my siblings, Shelia Richardson, Michael Dickerson, Vernitta Lenor, Thomas Bernard Dickerson, Cornell Dickerson, Lawrence Ray Newsom, Dora Mae Lawrence, and Thomas Dickerson, Jr., special nieces Kimberly Williams and Dorothy Richardson; and a host of other relatives and friends. Let me not forget my precious cat "White-Boy Richardson". I will miss you all.
