

Mary, an unforgettable wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and Momaw was born on April 23, 1959 in
Houston, TX to Bernadette and Dennis Loonam. She was the youngest of five children, she cherished
and admired her irish heritage. She loved spending time with her mother and siblings. On July 12 1980
she married , James Steeples at St. Christopher Catholic church . Mary and James made a beautiful life
for themselves and their marriage was blessed with two amazing sons, William Ashley and Christopher
Todd. Mary spent much of her time as a mother watching her boys play and excel in sports. She enjoyed
reading and gardening but her biggest joy was traveling and antiquing with her husband, James. Their
trips to Fredericksburg and Canton were her favorites. Her biggest treasure in life was being called
Momaw. Her life revolved around her four grandsons. She loved them with all she had, and they always
looked forward to spending time with her. Mary was special to all that knew her, and she will live on
forever in the hearts of her boys, her family and her friends.
Mary in preceded in death by her father, Dennis Loonam Sr.; father-in-law, William Steeples, and her
brother-in-law, Grady Steeples. Mary is survived by and will live on through her husband, James
Steeples; two sons William & wife Kaitlyn Steeples of Alvin and Christopher & wife Taylor Steeples of
Bryan. Mary is the beloved Momaw of Wyatt & Walker Steeples of Alvin and Cooper & Beckett Steeples
of Bryan. Her legacy will live on through her mother, Bernadette Loonam; her siblings Eileen Goldstein &
husband Marty, Coleen Rittenhouse & husband Oneil . , Denny Loonam & wife Mickie, Bernadette
Krengle & husband Pat. She will continue to be admired by her mother-in-law, Shirley Steeples; sister-inlaws, Amy McMahan & husband Brian, Sherry Havard & husband Doug, Sarah Whitten & husband Ron.
Mary will also be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be James Steeples, William Steeples, Christopher Steeples, Doug Havard,
Donnie Havard and Marty Goldstein.
A graveside service for Mary will be held Thursday, August, 26, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Forest
Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023
