

Mary Pena Tello, 81, passed away Monday, Jan. 3, 2011. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to so many more beyond her family. Words cannot express how her boundless devotion to all will be dearly missed. Mary resided with her husband of 62 years in Deer Park, Texas. In past years she was involved with the PTA, St. Patrick’s Church and Wesley House, and retired from American Bank in downtown Houston. In recent years she had become an active member of the Maxwell Center in Deer Park where she enjoyed socializing with her friends, creating ceramics and porcelain dolls and playing cards. Family and friends remember Mary for her loving spirit, warm beautiful smile, joyful laugh and dedication to her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro Pena Sr. and Refugio (Mama Cuca) Pena; brothers, Johnny, Gonzalo, Pete and Joe. She is survived by her husband Gilberto Tello Sr.; son, Gilbert Tello Jr.; daughters, Elizabeth Ramos, Gloria Aranda, and Cynthia Rodriguez, and their spouses; eleven grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. There will be a visitation on Friday Jan. 7th from 5:00pm -9:00pm, with a Rosary at 7:00pm, at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. On Saturday Jan. 8th there will be another viewing at St. Hyacinth Church in Deer Park at 10:00am, followed by a Mass at 11:00am. Interment will then follow at Forest Park Lawndale.
