

Melvin Lee Coleman, born on October 1, 1943, passed away on July 28, 2025, at the age of 81. A resident of Livingston, Texas, Melvin was deeply loved by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Ruby Coleman, and his brother, Donald Coleman. He is survived by his son, Christopher Coleman, and his siblings, MayBeth Lauter and Robert Coleman.
Melvin was a proud member of the United States Army, having served in the Vietnam War where he was awarded a Purple Heart. His dedication and service to his country were a source of great pride for him and his family.
In his personal life, Melvin enjoyed working in the yard and on his house, always willing to lend a hand to others. He loved his French Bulldog Vanessa and cherished his travels to Colorado to visit his son and enjoy the outdoors together. Riding Harleys with his siblings was another cherished pastime.
Melvin was also an active member of his community, often helping out at his church. His kindness and willingness to assist others were well known, and he was loved by many for his generous spirit.
A memorial service with military honors will be held in his memory at the Houston National Cemetery, located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038, on August 22, 2025, at 2:30 pm.
