Michael Terrance Stockwell, 64, of Kingwood, Texas passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021. He was born in Houston, Texas on April 24th, 1956 to Theodore Gail Stockwell and Hazel Elaine Stockwell. Michael attended North Shore High School where he was the star quarterback. He excelled in sports, love, and life itself. He always put everyone’s best interest before his own. Treating people with compassion was his greatest gift. After high school he went on to play football for Stephen F. Austin University where he joined and became president of Pi Kappa Alpha and graduated in 1978. After college he moved back to Houston where he took over the family business, Mike Stockwell Insurance, where he went on to become a top producer for the duration of his career. If he wasn’t at the office, you could find him on the golf course or making memories with friends and family. He was always the life of the party and you could not help but be drawn to him.
Michael married the love of his life Debra Kay Stockwell and made their loving home in Kingwood. He suffered a traumatic brain injury and by the grace of God and his loving wife Debbie, who never left his side, he was able to bless us with his presence for another 2 and a half years. While those times were very difficult, he continued to smile and show his love to his wife, children, family and friends.
Michael was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to all who knew him. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Debra Kay and her children Casey Cox, Justin Cox, wife Kathryn and son Carter. Michael’s daughter Kim Stockwell, fiancé Grant Richardson and children Reese, Mia, Grant Jr., Nathan, Rowan, Tommy; his son Mike Stockwell, wife Ashley and children Mackenzie, Christian, Caleb, Presley, and great grandson Tate Michael; sisters Ricki Stockwell, Terri Smith, and Kathi Goedrich and husband Randy, nieces Deanna Johnson and Kinsey Solleder and husband Michael, nephew Jonathan Goedrich; and many cousins, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Chipper Stockwell, aunt Sandra Zimmerman, uncle Milton Wortham, and stepfather Judge Robert L. Smith. While our hearts are broken, we have comfort knowing he has joined all of them in Heaven. He will be dearly missed may he Rest in Peace.
