

Minnie Lee (Franklin) Coleman born in Houston, TX October 7, 1941 to the parentage of Ben and Willie Odessa Franklin who preceded her in death. She attended school in the Houston area. She received Christ at an early age and became a member of Wayman Chapel AME Church where she severed on the Senior Usher Board and Pastor Aid Society. She married Robert Coleman Sr. on August 3, 1957, and two children were born, Robert Coleman Jr. and Venessa Inez Coleman. Minnie and Robert Coleman Sr. later divorced. She worked in the Houston ISD for several years where she later retired and decided to help in the rearing of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins (the family); until her health started to decline. On Sunday, January 8,2017 the gracious spirt of Minnie Lee Coleman departed this life, leaving memories to be cherished by her two children Robert Coleman Sr. (Houston) and Venessa Inez Mathis(DeSoto), her six grandchildren; Kristopher Mathis (Ta’sha) of Houston, Kedericke Mathis (Andrea) of DeSoto, Alexus Mathis of DeSoto, Robert Franklin Coleman (Deshaundra), Corey Coleman and Jasmine Beckham all of Houston. Seven great grandchildren; Kristopher Jr., Kaire, Kaden, Ka’ssyria all of Houston, Kaden of DeSoto, Josiah and Caden of Houston. One sister Barbara Jean Wheat of Houston, two brothers; David Neal Williams and James Charles Williams (who proceeds her in death), one special Aunt Leora Burnett of Richmond, a special friend John Gillum and a host of nieces, nephews, step-kids, relatives and friends.
