Nora Kathrin Mohr

Born May 29th, 1949 to John Patrick Gallagher and Lois Marie Oxley in Jasper, Texas, they moved to New Jersey where she grew up in Hoboken. She graduated St. Cecilia Catholic High School in Englewood, New Jersey, and married her high school sweetheart, Martin Mohr VI on July 22nd, 1967. Together they had two children, moved to Houston, Texas, and built a beautiful life together.

Nora and Marty loved learning and adventure. For nearly 30 years, they traveled the United States, visiting “hysterical” markers, national monuments, state parks, and every cavern possible. Widowed at 47, she was a very strong and independent woman, always living life on her own terms. She was very proud of her Irish roots, and fulfilled her lifelong dream of visiting the Emerald Isle - County Clare, Ireland - in 2003.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her adoring and devoted husband. She is survived by her daughter, Stacy Kelly, and son Martin Mohr VII (wife Deana), Grandchildren, Jennifer Oller (husband Benjamin), Hailey Yeager (husband Camren), and Martin Mohr VIII, Great-Grandchildren, Jayden and Sophie Yeager, Siblings Cynthia Fitzmaurice (husband Dennis), and Patrick Gallagher (wife Rosa), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in Texas, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Florida.

Nora’s family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of The Heights of North Houston for the love, care, compassion, and comfort given to “Ms. Nora” in her final days.

A visitation for Nora will be held Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A memorial service will occur Friday, May 13, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home.
