He was born in Cypress, Texas on January 20, 1952 to Olen Louis Taylor, Sr. and Dolly Delle Sibley. They have both preceded him in death, as well as his sister, Cathy Cummings.
He was a Sergent in the United States Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War, earning several medals and accommodations, including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
He was survived by his children: three Daughters: Dolly Gaylor (and husband, Stephen) Melissa Martinez (and husband, Miguel) and Artrisha Gardner (and significant other, Walter Nelson, Jr.) He also had four stepchildren he loved like his own: Darling Taylor, Kathereen MacKenzie, Marshall Jordan and Ryan Hill. He also leaves behind several grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was also survived by his siblings, Bill Wunderlich (and wife, Coy), and sister, Beverly Weinicke, and many other extended family members.
He worked a variety of jobs, from welder to truck driver, to electrician. While working as an electrician, he earned the title of Switch, due to his ability to switch from one job to another.
He enjoyed the simple things in life, was an avid fan of NASCAR, and old western movies. A simple loving man, may he rest in peace. He is buried in the National Veterans Cemetery in Houston.
