

Buddy was born September 26, 1936, in Dayton, Texas to Anthone and Bessie Cone. Buddy served in the US Army from 1960 until he was honorably discharged in 1962, earning a Good Conduct Medal, and then serving in the US Army Reserves until 1966.
Buddy is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Cone, his parents Anthone and Bessie Cone, his brothers Harold and Archie Cone and his sisters Christine Komincak, Amelia Johnson, Helen Kimich, Virginia Bova and grandson John Duncan.
Buddy and Juanita owned their own grocery stores, Phil's Home Town Foods, and Buddy worked as a butcher. Buddy especially loved his time with his friends at the Galveston County Master Gardener Association where he earned his Masters Gardener Emeritus in 2022. Since 1987, Buddy was a proud member of the American Legion Post 291 in San Leon, Texas, where he was engaged in many community events and at one time served as the commander.
Buddy is survived by his sister Martha Ann McCleney, daughters Angela Walden and Colleen Patterson, his stepson Hubert Harrell, wife Holly, stepdaughter Lovette Bales, husband Joel, and stepson Charles Cook, wife Kerri, grandchildren Brian Harrell, Andrea Chvatal, Taylor Bales, Nita Bales, Karrie Cook, Hailey Cook and Hayden Cook, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
