Purita Ng Lum

Purita was raised in Cavite, Philippines, she was the oldest of 7 children. Growing up as a young lady, Purita was dutiful and helped support her family through her jobs. She later married and moved to Houston, Texas where she worked in the family grocery business and then as a laundromat owner for over 40 years! Purita loved nothing more than spending time with her family and enjoyed activities together.

Purita is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lum; siblings, Juanita Lee and Leonardo Ng, and her parents, Ho Ng and Cheung Shee Ng.

Left to cherish her memory are her 3 children, Phillip Lum, Rosalyn Vera and Doris Lum; 6 grandchildren, Catheryn Vera, Arabella Vera, Nicholas Nguyen, Charlotte Nguyen, Kristen Lum and Jonathan Lum; 4 siblings, Ernesto Ng, Roberto Ng, Alejandro Ho, and Feliza Lee.

Serving as pallbearers: Phillip Lum, Ken Nguyen, Cathryn Vera, Arabella Vera, Nicholas Nguyen, Charlotte Nguyen, Kristen Lum and Jonathan Lum.

A visitation for Purita will be held Friday, April 15, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will occur Friday, April 15, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A committal service will occur Friday, April 15, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
